Mononeuropathy is a term used for the inflammation of and individual nerve or nerve trunk. Common symptoms are pain, dysesthesia, or numbness.
Mononeuritis: Neuritis is a true inflammation of the nerves and the symptoms are pain, dysesthesia (tingling) or numbness. The symptoms are continuous in nature and are caused by trauma (fracture or dental procedure), local compression or infection-inflammation. When neural abrasion comes from slowly progressive external pressure the symptoms are slow to develop and the condition is more difficult to diagnose.
